A big thank you to the team of scientists from Bristol University that visited the school yesterday. We enjoyed an exciting assembly about discoveries in biomedical science. Year 5 and 6 then stayed with them and had a workshop. Look at some of the art they created, showing some of the bacterias that can be found in our mouths!

We made predictions about what would happen when we poured a transparent liquid into the blue (cabbage) water. I didn’t explode (as some of us thought it might). Instead, it turned pink! You can try this at home with help from an adult. Cut up some red cabbage, put it in water and blend it. Strain out the chunks and you have blue water to experiment with.
