Stoke Park has a new sculpture trail! Poplar and Oak class have been exploring the Estate and visiting all the sculptures.
Poplar and Oak Class were invited to design woodland sculptures for the Love Lockleaze festival taking place this summer. We walked to Stoke Park woods to gather ideas and inspiration then worked hard on our designs, with the winning ideas crafted into sculptures by Andy O’Neill.
There are some nice walks to be had in the park which you may wish to look at with this info: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/documents/20182/32879/Hermitage+Walk.pdf/5d042f68-e99b-45a0-84a2-23da6bdc3c3e
All of the trees being carved are in the Longwood part of the woods which is marked on the map in the above walk description. The paths can get very wet and muddy so please ensure you wear suitable footwear, and wear the right clothing for the weather.
The trail has been funded by Horfield and Lockleaze Neighbourhood Partnership and Co-Op. It has been supported by Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust
Many Thanks to all of those involved, especially to our parent helpers, who helped make the trip happen.
All the best,
Miss Andrews and Mr Pritchard
